Cougar Lake Reservoir, Oregon

On what had to be the hottest weekend of the summer, we left on Friday afternoon with Tobi, Jesse, Jesse's girlfriend, Erica, and Aly. We went to Slide Creek Campground, on the far side of Cougar Lake (off Highway 19, between Highways 126 and 58). It was well into the 100's both days.

 

The campground was rustic: no flush toilets or water. And we had to park the trailer on the side of the road (no parking near the picnic table). But the views were fantastic, and the lake felt wonderful in the heat.
