The Grand Tetons, Wyoming

Grand TetonsSeptember 7, 2008

Just north of Jackson Hole and south of Yellowstone is the Grand Tetons National Park, noted for its impressive snowy mountain peaks. There wasn't much snow left on them in September, but they were still astounding.

Eager to get through to Yellowstone to camp, we didn't spend a lot of time in the Tetons, but we did stop at Jenny Lake so Bailey could have a swim (and Kate could do a little rock-hunting). And we picnicked at a sight overlooking Jackson Lake.

Alpine River

One of my favorite parts of the park is the streams and rivers running through alpine meadows. I wish we'd had more time to loll about on the green grass while Bailey splashed in the water.
