Zion National Park, Utah

Zion mountainsSeptember 19-22, 2008

This was my favorite. Hands down. I'm glad I didn't go here first, because nothing afterwards would have lived up to it.

We had planned to stay just one night, because taking the shuttle buses into the park with Bailey would have been difficult to pull off.

The Narrows

Zion, and especially hiking the Narrows, turned out to be my favorite part of the entire trip. For more photos and stories, see:

Fortunately, we met Lynne and her dog, Mojo, who live and work at the campground. "You can't leave without really seeing it," Lynne insisted, and she generously offered to babysit Bailey the next day while we hiked.

The third day, we ended up leaving both the dogs in Lynne's air conditioned RV (with a friend walking them midday) while we hiked up the Narrows with Lynne and her two friends, Liane and Doug.
