Cross-Country Trip

UtahSeptember 5 - 24, 2008

In September 2008, my father was having a big 80th birthday bash in Springfield, Missouri. Instead of flying there, we decided to drive, with the teardrop, and turn the journey into a whirlwind camping experience, seeing as much as we could in the three weeks.

After a great reunion and party in Missouri, Kate and I hit the road again, this time taking a more southern route. We stopped in Durango, Colorado to see my youngest brother and then went on to the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce Canyon. The drive the Nevada was long and tedious, but we came home having covered more ground in 3 weeks than we had in years (camping ground, anyway).

We saw elk, buffalo, antelope, coyotes, wild horses, a moose and her baby, and even a tarantula! It was a wonderful trip, and this web site will help us remember it forever. We hope you enjoy it, too.
